Seconded by Councilman Brown. <br />Remarked that under section 2.20.l0l0(b) <br />the wording "his services," perhaps be <br />changed to his or her services. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that provision <br />had been made in the municipal code for the <br />word his to denote both genders. <br />Question called for. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. <br />Question called for. All in favor. Hotion <br />carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Attorney Rautenstraus read the ordinance <br />by title only on first reading. He in- <br />formed Council if this ordinance were pub- <br />lished it would revoke the Hayor' s right <br />to vote. A bill was passed in the Legislature <br />authorizing this right to the mayor as of <br />1/1/82.and would be automatic thru State <br />Statutes. <br />Inquired of the City Attorney if the ordinance <br />is passed in this form - the mayor would not <br />be allowed to vote but would retain his veto <br />power. Attorney Rautenstraus stated this was <br />correct. <br />
