Community Park Concerts Parking Setup
The following are what I've been doing to setup parking for the Thursday
concerts at least since the 2018 series. The steps below only represent my
ideas on how best to reserve spaces and remove the possibility for misuse
and confusion.
Setup should be done at 12pm/lunchtime. Suggested time for someone
to supervise parking entrance is 4:15pm, latest. It is easier with two
people, one can manage though.
Mark Cathcart, LCC Member
GUIDELINES.
1. There are four existing blue badge/disability spaces. These will
typically be reserved for food trucks. They can be replaced with four
spaces on the north east side adjacent to the dog park.
2. People will come up with all sorts of reasons why they should be
allowed into the parking/foodtruck/band setup area, the more you
allow, the more chaos it will become. Friends of the band and even
band members who arrive early should be asked to park on south
side of Bella Vista Dr. near the driveway.
3. Disability and elderly guests can be accommodated as much as they
can. Arriving late near or after 6pm usually means they can't be
accommodated. This is regrettable but unavoidable.
4. Dog park users can be admitted to park adjacent to the dog park
usually until about 5pm, politely ask them to leave no later than
5:45pm.
5. People will ask for access to drop-off. Don't allow this. Some people
abuse it, others just take too long and block the turn circle etc. If
you place the a -frame NO PARKING sign parallel to the curb in the
middle of the driveway, there is just enough space for vehicle to
enter and drop-off on the inside of the NO PARKING sign and then
leave.
6. Remember, as much as we don't want to admit it, especially about
our community and friends, they are inherently lazy and want to
park where they want to park. The more decisive and in charge you
are, the less they will take advantage.
7. If Balfour or any of the other Senior residential homes show up late
with buses, there is really no advice. You can advise them that they
