ORDINANCE #701 CARANCI REZONING 2ND READING, PUBLIC HEARING ORDINANCE #704 - 1981 BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS - FIRST READING Page - 2 - 11/5/80 be done about the vandalism to the parks that occurred mostly after football games, or other school activities . There was no immediate solution indicated. Councilman Carnival suggested that perhaps one of the parks could have extended hours to accomodate the students. such as Cotton- wood Park. Police Chief Leesman reported that most of. the complaints received by his department came from the residents in the vicinity of Cottonwood and Lake Park especially after midnight, and they do not have the officers available to cover the park while the parties are in progress. After discussion Carnival moved that the ordinance be amended to read park hours be Drom 6:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Roll call vote - Fauson No, C\nmnings Yes, DelPizzo No, Carnival Yes, Meier Yes. Domenico No. Further discussion was held and Parks & Rec. Director Hioco made Council aware that a special permit for extended hours could be issued for any park. Motion by Councilman Carnival that Ordinance #700 be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Roll call vote - Cummings Yes, Del Pizzo No, Carnival Yes, Meier Yes, Fauson Yes, Domenico No. Motion carried 4-2. Attorney Joss read Ordinance #701 by title only. Mayor Caranci opened the public hearing and there was no one present on the rezoning of the Caranci property. Councilman Domenico moved that the public hearing be continued until next regular Council meeting - November 18, 1980, seconded by Councilman Heier. Attorney Joss reported that since the announcement was made by Mayor Caranci Ordinance #701 need not be republished. All memebers of Council had before them a copy of Ordinance #704 for their re- view and files. Attorney Joss read the Ordinance on first reading by title only.
