GLEN HUEY RECYCLING CENTER <br /> WHEREAS, Glen Huey initiated the Louisville Recycling Center, and; <br /> WHEREAS, in coordination with his company, Town and Country Disposal, <br /> Glen provided the containers for recycled materials during the <br /> initial years of the center, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Glen Huey served three terms on the Recycling Board and <br /> Resource Conservation Advisory Board, chairing the boards two <br /> different times, and; <br /> WHEREAS, when the markets for recycled materials were so low volunteer that <br /> organizations would not sign up to operate the recycling center, <br /> Glen Huey, through Town and Country Disposal, operated the <br /> center and donated all proceeds to charity, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Colorado Municipal League Municipal Achievement Award <br /> recognized Louisville's Recycling Center through its innovative <br /> awards program, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the cities of Louisville and Lafayette have now joined to <br /> cooperatively operate the center with co-mingled recycling and a <br /> card board compactor, and; <br /> WHEREAS, due to the efforts of Glen Huey, millions of pounds of materials <br /> have been recycled rather than placed in landfills. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, through this <br /> proclamation rename Louisville's Recycling Center to the Glen Huey Recycling Center and <br /> encourage all citizens to help conserve our community's resources by recycling. <br /> DATED this 18th day of September 2001. <br /> ( UIS=�O <br /> �` <br /> iL. • J F.,...... �4 I <br /> Tom Davidson, Mayor ;i b <br /> i v' <br /> .k'i <br /> ATTEST: k s Doutm <br /> Nancy V. a, City Clerk <br />
