Walk Our Children to School Day <br />October 6,1999 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville provides beautiful, accessible and well cared for walkways for students, <br />parents, faculty, staff and the community to get to area schools; and, <br />WHEREAS, the number of people that drive to area schools continues to increase; and, <br />WHEREAS, students should be taught and encouraged to walk to school safely, looking left and right <br />before crossing, and crossing at designated crosswalks; and, <br />WHEREAS, our community should be encouraged to enjoy the beauty and health benefits of walking to <br />area schools; and, <br />WHEREAS, walking to school brings the community together and touches our senses. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, <br />Colorado, do hereby proclaim the October 6, 1999 as Walk Our Children to School Day in the City of <br />Louisville, Colorado and encourage all residents on this day and everyday to consider the importance and <br />safety of walking in our community. <br />DATED this 21S` day of September, 1999 <br />500 <br />pUlS <br />*Tom Davidson, Mayor <br />G <br />A <br />Dave Clabots, City Clerk <br />
