NATIONAL DRINKING WATER WEEK <br />WHEREAS, safe drinking water is crucial to our high standard of <br />living; and <br />WHEREAS, proper respect for a limited, precious resource such as <br />water is essential to our way of life; and <br />WHEREAS, National Drinking Water Week has been established to <br />promote and explain the role safe water plays in our daily lives; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, education, leads to better understanding of the value of <br />water; and <br />WHEREAS, conservation is an important part of providing water for <br />future generations; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Herman Fauson, Mayor of the <br />City of Louisville, do hereby proclaim the week of May 6-12 as <br />"Drinking Water Week" and encourage conservation and environmen- <br />tal responsibility to ensure a source of abundant, safe drinking <br />water for this generation and future generations. <br />Signed this 1st day of May, 1990. <br />e <br />Herman Fauson, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Donna Cummings, City Cler - <br />
