America Recycles Day <br />November 15, 2003 <br />WHEREAS, in 1997 the Recycling Alliance of Texas created a statewide public awareness <br />campaign to highlight the environmental and economic benefits of waste reduction <br />and recycling; and, <br />WHEREAS, the holiday, called America Recycles Day, was created from the Texas model by <br />the National Recycling Coalition, Inc. with the first annual America Recycles Day <br />in November of 1998; and, <br />WHEREAS, this year is the sixth annual America Recycles Day with efforts to promote the <br />4R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rebuy recycled products; and, <br />WHEREAS, Americans generate more than 230 million tons of solid waste each year, we are all <br />reminded that everyday is another day to recycle, reduce our waste, purchase <br />recycled products, and to continue to support recycling. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Tom Davidson, Nlayor of the City of Louisville, <br />Colorado, do hereby proclaim November 15, 2003 as America Recycles Day and urge all citizens <br />of Louisville to Make Every Day America Recycles Day and to support efforts for waste <br />reduction and recycling. <br />Dated this 4'1' day of November, 2003 <br />Tom Davidson, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />SEAL <br />Nancy Var a, City Clerk <br />®�®RAC <br />
