L: Cityof ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO -SINCE 1878 <br />SUBJECT: DISCUSSION- STRATEGIC PLAN ACTION #2-6: HOST ANNUAL <br />(OR SEMI-ANNUAL) BUSINESS FORUM TO GATHER ALL <br />STAKEHOLDERS, REVIEW CITY PRIORITIES, AND GATHER <br />FEEDBACK <br />DATE: OCTOBER 21, 2022 <br />PRESENTED BY: AUSTIN BROWN, ECONOMIC VITALITY SPECIALIST <br />SUMMARY: <br />The Economic Vitality Strategic Plan contains Action #2-6: "Host annual (or semi- <br />annual) Business Forum to gather all stakeholders, review City priorities, and gather <br />feedback." This is an ongoing Action. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />An annual (or semi-annual) Business Forum is included within the Economic Vitality <br />Strategic Plan. Staff previously had discussion with EVC about the fall Business Forum <br />during the August 19 and September 16 EVC meetings. The materials from these <br />meetings are included as Attachment #1. <br />The fall Business Forum is scheduled for Thursday, October 27 from 5 — 8 PM at <br />Ascent Church (550 McCaslin Blvd). Congressman Neguse's team has also confirmed <br />that he will be able to attend as the guest speaker. Congressman Neguse will be giving <br />a short speech about the Inflation Reduction Act. A tentative schedule of the forum is <br />included below: <br />• 5:00 <br />— Happy Hour <br />• 6:00 <br />— Speakers <br />• 6:20 <br />— Panel <br />• 7:00 <br />— Networking <br />Staff has been working with Events staff to finalize logistics of the Forum. So far, staff <br />has secured appetizers from The Grill at Coal Creek, wine from e-bike of Colorado, beer <br />from Crystal Springs Brewing, and non-alcoholic drinks from Doctor D's. The appetizers <br />include fruit and cheese platters, bruschetta, caprese, and crab cakes. <br />Staff has also contacted the Historic Preservation Commission, Louisville Chamber of <br />Commerce, Downtown Business Association, Louisville Revitalization Commission, <br />Public Works, and the Sustainability Advisory Board about having informational booths. <br />Finally, staff has also been working with Communications to coordinate a save -the -date, <br />a formal invitation, and a formal announcement of Congressman Neguse as the guest <br />speaker. Per a request from Congressman Neguse's team, staff did not announce <br />Congressman Neguse as the speaker until Monday, October 17. These announcements <br />Agenda Packet P. 15 <br />
