Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 16, 2022 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />Specialist Brown gave a summary of action items required for the Business <br />Forum and asked for feedback. There was none. <br />VII. Discussion/Direction- Economic Vitality Strategic Plan Specialist Brown <br />gave an overview of the Economic Vitality Strategic Plan and identified items <br />currently planned for Q4 2022 and early 2023. <br />Director Zuccaro asked if the EVC could prioritize the items so that staff can <br />focus on specific actions from the Strategic Plan. The EVC identified Action #1- <br />11, Action #2-5, and Action #5-3 as items for immediate action. Councilmember <br />Fahey commented that she would like to see a discussion around the Business <br />Satisfaction Survey. <br />Chair Dickinson commented that Action #1-8, Action #34, and Action #5-5 may <br />become high priority items depending on the outcome of the Commercial <br />Energy Code discussion. He continued that the EVC may be able to collaborate <br />with the LRC on Action #5-7. <br />Specialist Brown summarized the conversation and confirmed that both Action <br />#2-5 and Action #5-3 will be on the October agenda. <br />VIII. Staff Updates: Specialist Brown announced three recent business openings for <br />Scherer Violin Shop (844 Main Street, Suite 103), Modern Folklore (844 Main <br />Street, Suite 102) and Bricks & Minifigs (1387 E South Boulder Road). The <br />Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC) approved two Fagade Improvement <br />Program requests from The Singing Cook (728 Main Street) and The Louisville <br />Mill Site (540 County Road) at its September 14 meeting. The LRC will be <br />having a follow-up strategy meeting with DCI on September 28, and will be <br />discussing their budget during their October 12 meeting. <br />Councilmember Fahey asked for an update on Creative Framing. <br />Chair Dickinson commented that one member of the EVC attend each LRC <br />meeting and suggested rotating attendance. Chair Dickinson also questioned <br />how the EVC can make sure that items that are of interest to the business <br />community are discussed by the EVC. He also expressed interest in a <br />discussion about incentivizing retail in downtown. <br />Public Comment from Chris Leh: Councilmember Leh commented that the LRC <br />will appreciate the increased coordination with the EVC. <br />IX.
