December Staff Updates Continued <br />[ZLCityof <br />Louisville <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />Memorandum <br />To: Louisville City Council <br />From: Louisville Open Space Advisory Board <br />Date: November 23, 2022 <br />Re: Recommendations for 2023 City Council Work Plan <br />Purpose: <br />In September 2022, the Louisville city clerk notified boards and commissions that the city <br />wishes to establish a formal process whereby each board/commission can submit a list of <br />projects to the City Council for the Council to consider for inclusion in its 2023 work plan. City <br />Council will start its work plan conversation in December and finalize the 2023 Work Plan in <br />January. A memo listing out each board's recommendations should be submitted no later than <br />December 1. This memo serves as a formal notification to City Council on the Open Space <br />Advisory Board's (OSAB) work plan priorities. <br />Background: <br />OSAB's 2023 City Council Work Plan Recommendations, in order of priority, are as follows: <br />1. Develop a process of using and/or asking for OSAB's input before the design or <br />execution of any projects that impact trails or open space land. <br />2. Work with OSAB on Open Space and Park Fund sales tax language and strategy. <br />3. Commit to a public process that engages Council, the Board, and citizens in the <br />development of the new 2024 Open Space and Trails Master Plan with more granularity <br />and CIP ranking lists. <br />Next Steps: <br />OSAB strongly feels that these 2023 work plan items align with the City's Strategic Plan and <br />represent policy initiatives that can be accomplished or moved forward significantly during the <br />
