April 18, 1978
Minutes - page 2

FERRERA REQUEST
CONTINUED

still be the chain link from the property
line to the edge of the sidewalk.
It was noted that the easement on the north
side of the property is maintained by the
property owner and if the fence is not
allowed there will be persons cutting
across the grass to get to the open
space area.
Mr. Drumm noted that it was his recommen-
dation that the fence not be allowed as
there is a bike path directly behind the
fence and if the person on the north side
of the street would request the same, it
may be very dangerous with young people
darting out into the street behind the
fence.
Councilman DiCarlo asked if the code for
the setback was in effect when the other
fence was installed; and if so, who
approved the installation. Mr. Drumm
stated that he was not sure and that
during the time of changes, Wood Bros.
was in the process of developing.
After discussion Councilman Caranci moved
that action be taken on the request.
Seconded by Councilman Meier. Roll call.
DiLorenzo yes, Caranci yes, Meier yes,
DelPizzo no, DiCarlo yes, Kilker no.
Motion carried.
Councilman DelPizzo stated that he was
not familiar with the area and felt that
the problem whould be looked at.

Councilman Caranci then moved that the
property owner be allowed to put a fence
in up to their property line and the ex-
cess chain link fence be removed and staff
study the problem of maintenance. Se-
conded by Councilman DiLorenzo. Roll
call. DiCarlo no, Caranci no, Kilker no,
DiLorenzo no, Meier no, DelPizzo no.
Motion defeated.
Council and staff will check further into
the request.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS

CITY ATTORNEY REPORT
ORDINANCE #584
GENERAL OBLIGATION
WATER BOND - SECOND
READING

There were no comments from the audience.

Attorney Joss stated that all necessary
publications have been made and that Mr.
Dunn Krahl was in attendance to answer
any questions.
Attorney Joss read Ordinance #584 on se-
cond reading by title only.
