It is a community center for socializing, <br />exercising, relaxing, connecting, playing, resources, and having fun. <br />- Brand new facility opened in 2019. Still has the "new car smell." <br />- People have learned to have more than one fitness outlet and the Recreation & Senior Center <br />can capitalize on this by continue to offer/market in -person, hybrid, and outdoor classes. <br />- Maximize the live, in -person, community experience <br />- Opportunity to engage front desk staff and leverage their interaction and "personal touch" with <br />the public. Our guests are more than just members. <br />- People crave community connection. <br />- Physical health supports mental health and can reduce stress and anxiety. <br />- Hybrid classes are still offered <br />- In -person exercise increases motivation and interaction and also has more option for equipment <br />& classes <br />Weaknesses/Threats <br />- Gym memberships nationwide are still below pre-COVID levels <br />- Other gyms and fitness centers are trying to entice members too - may offer lower costs or <br />more specialized workouts <br />- Some people are still concerned about COVID risks <br />- Exercise habits changed during COVID-19 <br />- Some people stopped working out and lost motivation <br />- People exercise outdoors more now — still seeing high use of trails and golf course <br />- People still working from home (the gym used to be near or on the way to their workplace) <br />
