ATTACHMENT A

Community Trail and Open Space Requests 2010-2015
And GIS information Request

Please return your open space and trail request information by Fridav Julv 31. 2009 to ensure
consideration in the Boulder County Parks and Open Space 2010-2015 capital improvements
planning (CIP) cycle.

I. Open Space and Trail Requests: send to Tina Nielsen - tnielsen\a1bouldercountv.org

Town/City:
Person submitting request:
Contact Information (Name, title, email, phone):
Has this request been approved by your advisory board andlor city council?

A. Open Space requests: Between all of our open space programs, we have acquired a
lot of open space in Boulder County. What significant parcels are left in your area that
should be protected in order to consider the job done? Please list properties numbered in
order of priority, even if you have submitted them in a previous year. Please give
property owner or location, acreage and attach a map if possible. Include any additional
information that may be relevant, such as how it fits in with municipal or county plans,
approximate cost, whether or not your community can share in the cost, etc. Refer to the
2009 Community Open Space Requests ~ Summmy and Status Report for responses to
2009 requests.

B. Trail requests: Boulder County will give stronger consideration to trail projects that
connect to existing community trails on county open space properties and regional trails,
and trails that are recommended in management plans. Trails that serve primarily a local
population are not likely to be considered for funding through the Boulder County Parks
and Open Space CIP. Please list projects numbered in order of priority, even if you have
submitted them in a previous year. Refer to the 2009 Community Trail Requests ~
Summmy and Status Report for responses to 2009 requests.

II. GIS coverage: One of the best ways to visualize the location of existing and potential
open space properties is by viewing them on a map. To this end, the Boulder County
Parks and Open Space GIS staff continually updates maps showing open space in
Boulder County. In order to show the complete picture, we need your help. If your
agency has a GIS staff member that is responsible for maintaining open space
information in GIS format, please have them send a copy of your open space property
and trails GIS data to John Staight, Senior GIS Specialist with BCPOS. Boulder County
will combine the information received from other agencies with its mapping information
to produce an Inter-Agency Open Space Map that will be made available both
electronically and in hard-copy format.

Contact John Staight with GIS questions: 303-678-6274 or istaight@boulderocuntv.org.
