WURL.
COUNCIL COMMENTS AND
COMMITTEE REPORTS

Minutes - Page 6
November 15, 1977

Domenico's statement, as there are more miles
on the cars then would be necessary if the
patrol was only in the irnnlediate area.
Councilman Dhieux stated that she felt there
was a need for an increase in the police force
with all the new annexations which the City
now has. Councilman Garanci moved that the
City advertise for the position of patrolman
to be hired on January 1, 1978. Seconded by
Councilman DiLorenzo. Roll Call; DiLorenzo
yes, Dhieux yes, Caranci yes. DelPizzo no,
DiCarlo no, Domenico no. Tie vote. Mayor
Waschak voted yes carrying the motion to ad-
vertise for the position.

Mr. Wurl informed Council that bids have been
called for at North Louisville Park on the
insulation of irrigation system and sod at
the Tennis Courts; Longmont Landscaping being
the low bidder at $9,851.00. It is the staff's
request that Council approve the bid for the
work. Councilman DiLorenzo moved that Longmont
Landscaping be awarded the bid for $9,851.
Seconded by DiCarlo. Roll Call vote; Dhieux
yes, DiLorenzo yes, Caranci yes, DelPizzo yes,
DiCarlo yes. Domenico abstained. Motion
carried.

Councilman Caranci moved that the City Admin-
istrator's report be accepted and placed on
file. Seconded by Councilman DiLorenzo.
Motion carried.

Councilman DiLorenzo requested that her al-
ternate attend the December 21, 1977 meeting
pertaining to the voting on the Northglenn
water issue. Councilman DiCarlo, the alternate,
stated he could not attend either.

Councilman DiCarlo stated on Sunday, November
13, 1977, EF Industries did some blasting
by the Monarch Mine which was heard and felt
within the City. Mr. Wurl stated that the
matter had been checked into and the County
Sheriff's Department had given them permission
to do the blasting and an officer was present.
It was requested that the City draft a letter
to EF Industries and the Boulder County
Sheriff's Department stating that the City did
not appreciate the blasting in the area.
