October 18, 1977 Minutes - page 2 1978 BUDGET HEARING CONTINUED Councilman Dhieux moved that Council adopt Resolution #10, Series 1977, City of Louisville, Colorado, adopting the 1978 budget. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Mr. Wurl stated to Councilman DelPizzo that the budget includes all anticipated grants, loans, etc. and the net budget total excluding grants, etc. is about 1.8 million dollars. After comments roll call was taken. Domenico yes, Caranci yes, DiLorenzo yes, DelPizzo yes, Dhieux yes, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried. AUDIENCE COMMENTS FIRE DISTRIGrREPORT Tom Poydock stated that the department is having a budget meeting and would like to see Council approve the 15 year repaYment for the fire hall. Mr. Murl stated that the paYment would begin in January 1979, and felt that in all fairness, the City should not have to carry the fire district for more then ten years. He also stated that by the time the district comes into effect, the City will have paid $40,000 on the fire hall. Mr. Poydock stated that the reason the fire department went with the 15 year program was because the extra expenses with the beginning of the new district. It was stated that if the mill levy was raised by the fire district they would be able to payoff the debts faster; however, they are trying to keep it low to see the fire district idea. Councilman Caranci asked that a copy of the proposed budget be given to Council. Mr. Poydock stated that it would be pre- sented as soon as they get a committment from the City pertaining to the Fire Equip. and the building. After comments, Councilman Domenico moved that the Fire Department be sold all the equipment, etc. except the building for $1.00; however, if the district fails then all that was sold will be turned back over to the City of Louisville. Seconded by Councilman Di Carlo. Roll call on motion. Domenico yes, Caranci yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes, Dhieux yes, DiLorenzo yes. Motion carried.
