-3- GARRETT ALLEY cont'd vacate the alley from Short St. to Griffith St. After discussion Council man DiCarlo rephrased his motion to read that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up an Ordinance to vacate the alley running from Short St. to Caledonia St., Caledonia St. to Lafayette St., and Lafayette St. to Griffith St. Seconded by Councilman Berry. After remarks, Councilman Berry moved to amend the motion stating that it was the alley between Lincoln St. and Garfield St. Seconded by Councilwoman Dhieux. Roll call on amendment. DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes, Dhieux yes, Berry yes, Caranci yes. Motion carried. Roll call on motion as amended. Berry yes, Caranci yes, Dhieux yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried. ONE-WAY ALLEY Mr. Wurl asked that the discussion on the alley running one-way be handled with the questionaire letter to the property owners involved. SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS A memo from the City Engineer stated the possible improvements and cost estimates to Council. Mr. Wurl stated the course if the Council would have a sidewalk district. Mr. Wurl stated that in this sense the City would put up any sidewalk that the property owner did not put in and then assess the owner on their property taxes. Councilman Berry stated that he felt the sidewalk placement should be put in the 1976 budget. Councilman DelPizzo stated that there was an Ordinance stating that all property owners will install sidewalks. He stated that the Ordinance should be enforced. ~~ Councilman DelPizzo stated that he felt the areas where the City cut the street down should be fixed by the City. ouncilman Caranci asked who is respon- sible for fixing steps to homes after the street is cut down. Councilman DelPizzo stated that it had happened to him and he was responsible for putting steps up to his home. Councilman DiCarlo asked that the Ordinance on sidewalks be reviewed and discussed after. No further action was taken. .
