Roll Call the following <br />were present - Tomeo, Koprowski, Berry, Mudrock, Dondelinger Perrella. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MIWJTES: Minutes accepted. <br /> <br />POLICE COMMISSION: Ray SancUin was hired as a temporary patrolman May 19, 1970 <br />by Mayor Caranci. Cha1rm\m 1'1udrock, of Police Commission, recommended that he <br />be hired full time. 11Otion by Hudrock seconded by Koprowski that Ray Sandlin <br />be hired as regular patrolman. YlOtion carried. Chief Patrick would like to attend <br />school for Finger Printing and Classifications from June 23rd to June 26th <br />Berry make sure he has someone to fill his place with no overtime pay. Chief <br />to set up schedule and re~ort June 2nd meeting. <br /> <br />PLANNING CO}~lISSION: . Perrella in regards to Estavilla property for trailer <br />court. ~tter from Bob Trenka stating the bulk of this property is ,effected <br />by floods~ From this information heconcluded that this ground is not suit- <br />able for this type of development. Attorney Morris said he had talked with Ken Bucci and <br />it will ~ tacked on to original sales tax. Bob to present to resolution <br />committee. Motion by Derry seconded by Dondelinger letter be sent to~~. <br />Eric Schmidt, State Represenative, the statue 'in regards to sales tax being <br />collected;by the State and then remitted back to Cities does not provide for <br />the Cities such as Louisville to levy a use tax. Because this tax is generally <br />associated with a sales tax and levied by home rule cities. They feel. this is <br />discriminatory in that goods in particular construction field can be "purchased" <br />outside the City and used for construction without tax. Louisville would like <br />the above statute amended to levy a use tax leaving the sales tax to be collected <br />by the Treasurer of the State of Colorado. Perrella send letter to DCOG and <br />CQlorado l-iunicipal League. Attorney Morris stated City should have right to <br />accumulate money for 2 or 3 years to purchase major equipment such as fire <br />truck and 'etc. Berry building permits pretty much up to date. Present Ord- <br />inance should be enforced. Tomeo to check water taps when making sewer <br />inspections. ' Bob is official Building Inspector if at some time he is unable <br />then he may call Tomeo. <br /> <br />HEALTH & RELIEF: Councilman KO.prowski sub,nitted list of 'yards that need to be <br />cleaned. Letters to be written and hand carried by Police. Motion by Dondel- <br />inger seconded by Mudrockthat letters be sent and carried by Police. Motion <br />carried. <br />Cemetery Bob - Gentlemen came in to reset stones must have a solicitors license <br />Never came back. Perrella a lot of llifibs and cans to be cleaned up at cemetery. <br />
