To: Historical Commission Members

From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator

Date: July 7, 2009

Re: Activity Report

Activity Report

The following are some recent projects that may be of particular interest to the Commission.

At the request of the Colorado Historical Society, I have prepared a list of Italian surnames of Louisville
residents that historically appeared in our town. The list is to be made available at CHS for people
researching Italians in Colorado. The list is attached. Please let me know if any of you know of additional
surnames that should be added.

I am in the process of scanning about fifteen historical photos from the Museum's collection for Dick
DelPizzo. Most of these are photos that were recently donated. He expressed an interest in having copies
to use for the parts of his replica that he is working on.

I made arrangements with the Boulder Valley School District to review the records from the Louisville
School District #29 that the BVSD keeps in storage. I have viewed the records and have found that they
mostly consist of minutes of the Louisville school board meetings. Unfortunately, not all years are
covered. They do contain a great deal of information about the school buildings as well as about the
teachers in the Louisville schools and what years they taught. The information that I obtained will help
with ascertaining the years of different school photos in the collection of the Museum.

I attended the June Volunteer Group meeting of the Association of Northern Front Range Museums
(ANFRM) in Sedalia with Sally Burlingame and Mary Kay Knorr. We had the opportunity to tour both the
Sedalia Firehouse Museum and the Cherokee Ranch & Castle.

Historical Museum Correspondence & News Coverage

Copies of recent publications from other museums, including the Colorado Historical Society, will be
available to view after the meeting.

Visitors Report

. June visitors: 282
. YTD visitors (through June): 783
