Centennial Engineering <br />Approval of Event Coordinator Contract Renewal <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />NONE <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Sisk asked that the change to the Event Coordinator Contract for 1999 be delineated for the record. <br />Davidson requested that the record show the July 4th Event Coordinator 1999 Contract for Services <br />compensation amount has been adjusted to $12,000 versus $11,500. <br />PRESENTATION PROCLAMATION OF FAMILY CAREGIVERS' WEEK, <br />NOVEMBER 22- 28,1998 <br />Davidson presented a proclamation declaring November 22 -28, 1998 as Family Caregivers' Week <br />to Emily Cooper, Program Director of the Lafayette Louisville Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers <br />program. <br />Emily Cooper thanked Council for recognizing the many family caregivers in the community who <br />give so much of themselves to care for their elderly loved ones. She stated that the Lafayette <br />Louisville Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Program is a new program to provide help to these <br />individuals. The volunteers visit weekly with older adults who cannot be left alone, allowing the <br />family caregivers to take a needed break. They also make weekly visits to elders living alone, helping <br />to reconnect them to the community. She invited residents interested in these services or in becoming <br />a volunteer caregiver to contact her at 303 665 -4562 or their local senior center. <br />ORDINANCE No. 1287, SERIES 1998 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PARKING <br />IMPROVEMENT FEE TO ASSIST IN MEETING PARKING NEEDS IN DOWNTOWN <br />LOUISVILLE, AND AMENDING CHAPTER 17.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE AND THE LOUISVILLE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT <br />DESIGN STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES TO REQUIRE THAT ALL <br />DEVELOPMENT EXCEPT RETAIL AND RESTAURANT DEVELOPMENT WITHIN <br />DOWNTOWN LOUISVILLE MEET SPECIFIC OFF STREET PARKING <br />REQUIREMENTS OR, IN LIEU THEREOF, PAY A PARKING IMPROVEMENT FEE <br />Public Hearing 2nd Reading (advertised Louisville Times, October 28, 1998) <br />
