WHEREAS <br />, in furtherance of such Intergovernmental Agreement and as authorized by <br />law, including without limitation Article XX of the Colorado Constitution, the City Charter, and <br />C.R.S. Section 24-90-108, the City Council desires to amend Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code to allow for appointment of one resident of Superior to the Louisville Library <br />Board; <br />THEREFORE, BE THETHE <br />NOW, IT ORDAINED BY CITY COUNCIL OF CITY <br />LOUISVILLE, <br />OFCOLORADO: <br />Section <br />1. Section 2.64.010 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): <br />Sec. 2.64.010. Library department Eestablished; <br />A public library and a public library department is established for the city The <br />management and control of such library is vested in the board of trustees in the <br />general fund of the city and under the provisions of section 8.3 (b) (6) of the City <br />Charter, as provided by Library policy. <br />Deleted: <br />Said library department shall <br />be responsible for providing a full range <br />of public library services to the citizens of <br />the city and. under inter-library <br />cooperative agreements, to the public at <br />Section 2. <br />Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />large. Said services shall be provided free <br />read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): <br />or under reasonables charges approved by <br />the city council. <br />Sec. 2.64.020. Library Bboard of-trustees-Appointment. <br />The mayor, with the consent of the city council, shall appoint a library <br />boardof trustees of trustees to manage and control to advise the city council and city <br />staff on matters concerning the public library of the city. The library board of <br />trustees shall consist of seven six residents of the city and one resident of the Town <br />of Superior, with all rules and responsibilities applying equally to members from <br />both municipalities. Trustees Board members shall be appointed to serve for five <br />years. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms as soon as possible by the <br />mayor, with the consent of the city council.
