Building Code Board of Appeals <br />Minutes <br />09/17/09 <br />Page 4 of 7 <br /> Gary Mancuso motioned that the Board to have Mike Jones tell City <br />Council to strike the 2009 Fire Sprinkler Adoption on Tuesday, September 22. <br /> Peter Geise seconded the motion. All present unanimously were in favor <br />to: 1) Adopt 2009 Code <br /> 2) Reject Fire Sprinkler Code <br /> 3) Amend wall assembly. <br />The Board member took more time to review Broomfield’s 2009 Amendments <br />with technical discussion of code requirements. Bob Van Pelt motioned that there <br />was nothing else to amend. Peter Geise seconded the motion. <br />Bob Van Pelt motioned that the board continue to re-look at the fire sprinkler <br />code changes in the future. Gary Mancuso seconded the motion. All present <br />agreed. <br />A. Administrative <br />1. By Laws – Rules of Procedure Discussion <br />Mike Jones said the city attorney is re-writing all the By Laws for all of the city <br />boards. He said there is no sense in doing it twice. All present agreed. <br />2. By Laws – Amendment Recommendations <br />David Rounds suggested that they send our draft of amendment <br />recommendations to the city attorney so he can use it. All present agreed. <br />C. Green Building <br />a. Update National Residential Green Building ANSI 700 <br />Paul Wood updated the Board that the points program adoption idea is not a <br />good plan. He said they could possibly bring in outside consultants and perhaps <br />community participation programs. He said they are waiting to see if the <br />Governor’s Energy office will offer grants. These are primarily for education and <br />follow-up training. He stated that there is no budge allocated in Louisville for this <br />program. <br />b. Update National Commercial Green Building AMSI 189.1 <br />Mike Jones said there is no further progress on the commercial green building <br />program. <br />c. Update Boulder County Build Smart Program <br />d. Update on Boulder Green Points Program <br />rd <br />Mike Jones said that the City of Boulder is doing their 3 re-write this year on <br />Build Smart and Green Points programs. <br />Gary Mancuso reminded the board that they voted to wait until after 2009 Code <br />adoption for any Build Smart of Green Points programs. <br /> <br />
