<br />Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />December 3, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Tree Protection - HFAB plans to approach Council at the February study <br />session regarding whether tree protection guidelines should be become an <br />enforceable part of city ordinance. <br /> <br />Landscape Maintenance Ordinances - Chris requested a meeting with Officer <br />Laura Lobato, and she submitted notes on the City's role in landscape <br />maintenance of commercial properties. HFAB will discuss with Council at study <br />session the possibility of expanding the scope and enforcement of municipal <br />code regarding commercial landscaping and maintenance. Dean and Chris will <br />meet with Laura to clarify understanding of current code. <br /> <br />Discussion of maintenance of landscapes at entries of residential subdivisions: <br />When there are no funds or an active HOA, whose responsibility is ongoing <br />maintenance? Should responsibility revert to the neighborhood? <br /> <br />Website Development - Suggestion was made to publicize on HFAB section <br />the plans for April 2010 Arbor Day/Earth Day observances. Possible speakers <br />for a Library presentation are Jim Ord, and Pat Hayward with Plant Select. <br /> <br />Discussion Items for next meeting on Thursday, January 7,2010 - Plan <br />presentation for February Council study session; discuss Trees Across <br />Colorado's offering of low-cost trees and how to publicize to Louisville residents; <br />plan Arbor Day/Earth Day activities. <br /> <br />Reminder - Arboretum tag installation, Saturday January 16 <br />City Council study session, Monday, February 8 <br /> <br />Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm. <br />
