Resolution No. 30, Amending the Financial Policies to Establish a Property Inventory Threshold for the City of Louisville Louisville Board and Commission Reappointment PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Patricia Thompson, 701 Nighthawk Circle, Louisville, Colorado, stated there is a traffic problem in her neighborhood due to the perceived benefit of cutting through the neighborhood to avoid the collector streets of Via Appia and Pine. She requested a meeting to discuss the feasible options for solving this problem as it has become a safety concem of parents with young children who live in the neighborhood. Mayer responded that this concern was brought to Council's attention approximately nine months ago and felt that the residents deserve to have the concern brought to closure. He requested holding a final neighborhood meeting with all the residents to reach agreement on how to solve the traffic problem. Wanda Mukherjee, 772 Nighthawk Circle, Louisville, Colorado, stated she initially opposed the temporary right-out-only onto Via Appia because it was an inconvenience to her. She has since changed her opinion after experiencing the decrease in delivery track traffic and noise that occurred when the right-out-only was in place. She disagreed with the media's report that the neighborhood was divided on how to solve the problem. She questioned what the Council's role is in this decision. Davidson explained that Council initially approved the street when the development was approved. They were concerned about placement of the street but had to also address the need for two entrances for emergency vehicle access. Council has asked the Public Works Department to look into the matter, which they are doing, and make recommendations on what can be done. The recommendations come from a multi-facet of issues and not necessarily from what the people on the street prefer. If Council closed a street due to residential preferences, other residents would ask to have their streets closed also. Julie Weeks, 737 Nighthawk Circle, Louisville, Colorado, stated in the eleven months she has lived in the neighborhood, she can site four specific incidents where she has been concerned for the safety of not only her children, but other children in the neighborhood. She asked that Council please do something before someone gets hurt. Davidson asked Tom Phare, Public Works Director, when the study of Nighthawk Circle will be complete. Phare replied they are finished. They looked at the possible modifications at Owl Drive, similar to what was done at Via Appia and concluded they wouldn't be effective.
