Agri awl Air lalialt w uusow ;
GI Gran Avenue
Louisville, Colorado SO027
MINUTES OF LOUISVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION REGULAR MEETING,
JUNE 20, 1974
Vice--Chairman Jerry King called meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
All members present except Larry Springer.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Tom Kennedy of Sunrise Enterprise presented plans for the
complete exterior restoration of Community Hall. A rough estimate
of the job is $17,000, which will include construction of a cupola,
as was on the building when it vas originally built, restoration
of windows, doors, and archways. Re-roofing, painting and etc.
Mr. Kennedy says this work would be done according to city code.
The board decided that the preliminary plans presented were •..ry
well done. They will investigate ways in which the project could
be financed, and asked Mr. Kennedy to submit a set of specifications
with complete details .
•DIRECTOR'S REPORT :
August Rioco reports that chlorine pump and filter system at pool
has cut off periodically. Several other items are unfinished, and
these should be taken care of. Mr. Ferguson is aware of these
problems and has written to Tollefson Construction and Architectural
Steel notifying them. A letter will be sent to both these companies
stating that final payment will not be authorized until problems are
corrected.
Dividers for women's bathrooms are ordered and should be delivered
soon.
Many children have complained because of cut toes . Randy Carnival,
head lifeguard says he believes the roughness of the plaster in the
pool combined with the little roughness on the deck surface could be
causing the problem. Tins will correct this situation, and there is
nothing More definite that can be done at the present .
Benches which have been ordered from Alex Rachak Recreation Company
have been shipped. Because of a strike situation and uncertain
delivery date, other benches were purchased in the meantime. August
said there is need for benches around the outside of the pool fence
and also in the bathhouse. A notion was made by Jerry King to keep
the order in effect and use the benches where needed. Motion was
seconded by JoAnn Purcell and all agreed.
Speakers for pool area have been ordered from Rocky Mountain Elec-
tronic Supply in Boulder. Keith Kelart has installed small intercom
system from pool to office at no cost .
Pool receipts are being handled by Cary Carnival. Attendance records ,
cont 'd .
