Also present, Dick <br /> Ferguson and Don Pickett . <br /> ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: <br /> Minutes of June 20th meeting were read. A motion to accept <br /> minutes was made by JoAnn Purcell and seconded by Jerry King. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. A bid for construction of shelter house at Memory Square <br /> Park was submitted by Tom Kennedy. Total amount of bid <br /> $9,180.00. Board will review this bid and will accept other <br /> bids before any decision is made. <br /> 2. Open membership on Parks and Recreation board was discussed. <br /> Persons who are interested in serving on the Commission are <br /> Mrs. Sheila Ryan, Chuck Scarpella, Dick Bodhaine and Don <br /> Pickett . In his absence, chairman Keith Helart's comments <br /> on this appointment were reviewed. A final decision will be <br /> made after City Council has replied to memo of July 11th, <br /> Election of officers will be held at August 1st meeting. <br /> DTRF.CTOR'S IMPORT: <br /> 1. Several incomplete items are in need of attention at the pool. <br /> Mr. Dick Ferguson requested a memo be sent him, listing all <br /> items so he can see about having them corrected. <br /> 2. Swim team will compete in several meets during the season. <br /> Outcome of these meets will be reported regularly as the <br /> season progresses. <br /> 3. San-O-Let at tennis courts has not been serviced properly. <br /> August has called about this and has been promised more <br /> efficient 'service in the future. <br /> 4. Nurseries Inc. will put a new coating on shuffleboard court <br /> • <br /> at Memory Square Park. <br /> 5. Paneling in bathhouse has been completed, but some trim is <br /> still to be finished. Pay phone has been installed. <br /> 6. Books are being kept up to date and can be examined. Jerry <br /> King suggested that a good time for the heard to do this <br /> might be after the pool close:1 for the year. Gross income <br /> from the pool at this time is $6,,'77 .25. <br /> cont 'd. <br />
