Yuri
City Administrator
City of Louisville
749 Meta Street
Louisville', Colorado 80027
Dear Mr. Wuri:
The bid of Kenneth Dukes Construction Company for the addition to the
Louisville Waste Water Plant has boon reviewed by Rocky Mountain Consul-
tants, inc. Although the bid of $263,820.52 was over budget, it is
r.commsnded that Kenneth Dukes Construction Company be awarded the con-
tract.
Thera are two viably means of proceeding with the project as we view it.
The first aitarnative would be to acquire the State Grant for sewage
works in the amount of $33,888.00 which has been applied for. This grant
would offset the amount the bid was over budget. We should have some
word on this within the next week or two. the second oltsrnative, In the
*vent the grant cannot be' obtained, would be to delete certain items
not absolutely essential for the successful operation of the waste water
treatment plant addition. The possible items which could be deleted are
as follows:
*It.ea 711 - 8-inch D.1. Pi $1,951.11
tom 8E - Concr.te Discharge Pads t.
(Existing Basins $1,400.00
*item 8G - Conerate Aprons
(Existing Basins) $12,000.00-
item 10C- Four Variators $6,390.00 •
item 10E- Kama* Mixer $10,485.00 '
The total of the above possible' deducts is $32,226.11 and although It may not
be nec.ssary to delete each and every ono of them, they are listed to indicate
the total amount which could be deducted from the bid of Kenn.th Dukes Construc-
tion Company and still produce • good operating waste water treatmant plant
addition. The bid specifications give Louisville the power to deist* or add
up to 25 percent of the total bid price.
1756 North Main St.•Longmont, Colorado• 80601 • phone 7724282 (metro) 605.8283
