Grasshopper Report.
',inclosed is a copy of a memo from Mr. 8ioco, Director
of Community Services relating to our plen of attack on
grasshoppers this spring and summer. as will be in atten-
dance at the meeting and may have some further comment and
be available to answer questions. •
B. Lake Park Improvements - Report
Ammo is enclosed relating to this - basically what is
going on is that the Urban Drainage District has agreed
to do $14,500 worth of drain improvements in the Lake
Park area, and at no cost to the City. I might just add
here that these improvements were obtained primarily through
the efforts of the Community Development Department. John
Rupp contacted Urban Drainage to see if we wouldn't qualify
for certain improvements that were being made in areas
around the district and this one happened to be top priority
and the district agreed to fund our request.
C. McKee Letter - Re: Election Costs
You will recall at the last meeting, Mr. McKee asked if
it was possible to have Mr. Kahan pay for the election,
and I requested that he send us a letter making a formal
request to that effect and indicating that was the wishes
of the members of the CPLF. In retrospect I now have
changed my mind, I feel that it is only proper that the
City do that so there is no room for any criticism on any-
body's part as relates to Mr. Kahan's involvement in the
election process in any way - specifically financially.
D. Reschedule - March 17, 1981 Council Meeting.
Requesting that Council reschedule March 17th meeting until
Thursday, March 19, 1981. The basis for that is we moved
up the March 3rd meeting to March 5th and it just seemed
appropriate to move up the second meeting also so that we
have the full two weeks spread there.
E. Police Cars - Authorize Purchase - State Bid.
Enclosed is a copy of • memo. In years past we have purchased
vehicles either one of two ways - we have either taken our
own bids if vs weren't satiated with the models, stc that the
State bid offered; or we have actually just bought through
the State at their bid price and this year that is exactly
what the Chief would like to do. The prices are lover. They
also have the type of vehicle, size and etc. that he desires
for the department. What we need is Council's authorization
to proceed with that purchase - on a lease purchase basis,
=mamma hes awhoa., arhlimorMashalarnia- arm——.Ear arra ha.. raha.-... haw _raahawed WA a,ah. ha h
