•
MEMD Page -2-
temporary and hopefully permanently, out of which they
could provide some basic County services. In the begin-
ning it would primarily house the Social Services programs
as well as a..sub-station. of the County Clerk's office.
They have been attempting over the last month and a half
or two months to locate some building that they could
rent temporarily and get the program started. Than hope-
fully construct a building on land they own on South
Boulder Road. east of the RR tracks or swap that land
for other land or a building somewhere in that immediate
vicinity to house these facilities. But Mr. Higgins will
explain that to you in further detail and review it with
Council.
Item 7. C. Urban Drainage and Flood Control.
We have bean discussing at a staff level for soma time.
the possibility of getting Urban Draiinag* and the
County's help in doing a master drainage plan for the
City of Louisville. We have finally been able to win
approval in terms of their cooperation and also providing
funds from both entities to initiate the plan. What
we are asking for tonight is Council's approval of the idea
as well as tentative approval of the preliminary contract
which will ba sent back to you for your final approval at
some meeting in the near future. They need to pinpoint the
actual costs. They want to discuss with various engineers
whom they are negotiating with as to the cost and pin those
down. Mr. Blanchard's memo further outlines exactly what
the proposal is about and should provide sufficient in-
formation for Council to act on this
D. Main St. & South Boulder Road Extension.
As promised at the last meeting. we will have a report
on the extension of Main St. that was suggested north
of South Boulder Road.
E. South Park Update.
To provide just a basic up-date on what is happening on
the construction of South Park.
F. Standby Generator - Wastewater Pump Station - Centennial
Drive - Timetable.
A timetable is being rovided for Council outlining when
the plans and specs will be ready, when we suggest a bid
date and completion date.
