M E M O R A N D U M 4111 41111
TO: MAYOR ME I Eit
FROM: AUGUST HIOCO, DIRECTOR 04451'
DEPARTMENT OF COMRJNlTY SERVICES
DATE: JANUARY 4, 1982
RE: APPOINTMENTS TO THE HISTORICAL COMMISSION
Norbert. I'm sorry about all the confusion on getting the
applications for the Historical Commission to you. I hope these
will help you in your decision for the Historical Commission.
I would like to comment that the Historical Commission has
done quite a bit for the City of Louisville. They've gotten
artifacts, papers and a great deal of history together for future
generations.
I would like to recommend to the City Council these people
to fill the five vacancies:
Carolyn Markham - she has been on the Commission since it started.
Eileen Schmidt - presently on the Commission.
Norman Laurence - he has been on the Commission since it started.
August Moto - I would like to continue service as the Executive
Director of the Historical Commission.
Ellen Hasleton - I would like to recommend her to be appointed to
the Commission. In reading her letter, it seems
as though she is very concerned about the historical
aspects of the City and would be a great benefit
to the Commission.
Your consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
