. 410 12/7/82 Page -4- APPOINTMENT TO BE ADVERTISED It was the general concensus expressed by councilmembers that all appointments to any of the Boards and Commissions be advertised. Also, if the members of the Board or Com- mission wish to recommend someone a resume be submitted with the request as well as the reason the Board feels the applicant is the best qualified. Councilman Leary felt that on the Board of Adjustments recommendations should not be made by the Board, given that kind of judicial nature. STORER CABLE TV REPORT Stated there was a lack of communications Joe Tennessen, Area Manager between Storer and the council, apologized for this and wished comments from council how this could be better accomplished. He advised 26 apartments are now receiving service , and the Portals group is being constructed presently. The owner of the apartments at 1608 Garfield had not and will not sign the releases for service. The owner of the Regal St . condominiums requested delay until further construction is completed. Community Buildings & Schools Re : community buildings - City Hall and Library were installed as of November 23 , 1982 . When the TV set is obtained Storer will re- turn to be certain it is working properly, and as many outlets as requested will be in- stalled throughout the building. The Fire Hall and High School have been installed. The Elementary School has not been installed, but they would contact Mrs. Labuda again. Father McGinn of the Catholic School had been contacted, but he wished to do some remodeling before their system was installed. Equipment For Citizens Use Equipment for the citizens use - delivery will be January 15 - February 1 , 1983 . Tennessen advised the equipment that will be delivered would do more than the agreement required of them. Storer Plant & Studio The plant was built a little over a year ago and there has been only one outage since the plant was constructed. In terms of service calls , it has the best record of 27 systems in the western region. The channels that are available for local use for announcements are being used extensively. They have a a Christmas project going on called Toys for Tots , soliciting toys for the Marine Corps . to redistribute. Restoration Mr. Tennessee stated all restoration has been completed.
