ORDINANCE NO. 814 - Major Thoroughfare Fund - First Reading
A copy of this ordinance is enclosed. Some time ago, I sub-
mitted a memorandum to Council outlining the project costs
of various improvements associated with the Major Thorough-
fare Fund and a recommendation that it be increased from
the present $800 fee to $1,200 as of January, 1984. The
proposed ordinance is in keeping with that recommendation.
ITEM 10. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
A. Lila Stucker - Leave Extension Request.
Our personnel code provides for an additional 6 weeks
maternity leave with no pay, should it be requested by
an employee. Mrs. Stucker is requesting that she be
granted 6 weeks additional leave; however the personnel
code also requires that be approved by City Council.
Recommendation is that council authorize her leave ex-
tension request.
B. Water Rebate - Discussion.
A copy of the various alternatives on the water rebate,
developed by the Finance Department is enclosed at the
request of council for your review and consideration.
C. Boulder County - Letter of Intent - Flood Plain
Enclosed is a copy of information sent to us relating to a
proposed meeting, which has since been held with the County
Commissioners, the Mayor, me, Karl Kasch, Director of Public
Works, and August Hioco, Director of Community Services.
The proposal is that a study be made by the Urban Drainage
Control District as to the possibility of funding open space
acquisition toward the purchase of flood plains in lieu of
money going toward the realignment, channelizing, etc. of various
creeks-in our case, Coal Creek. The proposal sets out that the
study would be paid for on the basis of 75% by Urban Drainage
and 25% by Boulder County. However Urban Drainage has said
they will not proceed with the study unless they have the con-
currence of the municipalities involved and in our case as it
relates to Coal Creek and Rock Creek Basin they are asking for
letters from Broomfield, Lafayette and Louisville. Recomen-
dation is that council authorize the sending of the letter of
intent that the City of Louisville supports the proposed study.
