this parcel is R-L we should promote diversi-
ty. Within our present day, only the larger
lots with a view or amenities are even sell-
ing within the city. These facts can be
verified from real estate sales and our own
building permit sales. Loan appraisals for
the church and school will not be affected by
he zoning under the highest and best use
principle. Development with an R-L zoning
would seriously impact traffic on adjscent
streets. After several neighborhood meetings
and a work session with representatives of
the church, we would ask you to follow the
planning commission recommendation and zone
the St. Louis church property R-R.
Jan Ferrari, Louise Sliman, George Harrach,
Ray Sears, Gail Wetrogan all concurred with
Mr. Meters. The neighborhood has no problem
with the school/church being built, but with
the zoning that is being proposed for the
project. If the church does not get built
the neighborhood is conceynad with the R-L
zoning for a subdivision. The neighborhood
would also request that the remains of the
building and the old buildings be taken care
of and removed.
Ted Kristals, 1041 Lincoln - is in favor of
R-R zoning. The neighborhood supports what
the church wants but not the zoning.
John Yates, 1025 Lincoln - requests that the
Council zone this property R-R.
Bob McClaren, Superior, representative for
the church - did not understand what R-R
zoning was when he agreed to this at the
Planning Commission meeting. We do need to
expand our school. I did not know that the
zoning of the land would make a difference
when it came to the appraisal of the land for
the financing that we need. I hope the
Council will consider our recommendation of
R-E zoning for this property.
Nancy Cummings, 261 Short place - is there a
difference in R-L and R-R zoning in terms of
the neighborhoods input even if the
school/church are built?
Franklin stated no. Once the zoning is
decided then the next step is for a church a
special review hearing. Then the neighbor-
s
7
