It has <br />been advertised for two months. I know <br />of a least three persons who have ap- <br />plied and I am here tonight to request <br />that you make the appointment without <br />any further delay so that the board can <br />get on with its business. <br /> <br />Mayor Fauson: The Council decided that they would like <br />to readvertise the appointment and if <br />it's all right with Council I will make <br />that appointment tonight. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. MAYORAL APPOINTMENT - LOUISVILLE LIBRARY BOARD (1 VACANCY - 5 <br />YEAR TERM, 1 VACANCY - 2 YEAR TERM) <br /> <br />Mayor Fauson appointed Jan Synder to the two year term and Steve <br />Sherman to the 5 year term. <br /> <br />B. PRESENTATION - $5,000 DONATION TO LOUISVILLE RECREATION <br />CENTER FOR GYMNASTIC EQUIPMENT - STORAGE TECHNOLOGY <br /> <br />Randy Schneider and Mike Koprowski, representing StorageTek, <br />presented Steve Baysinger with a check for $5,000 for the <br />Louisville Recreation Center to buy new recreation equipment. <br /> <br />Mayor Fauson presented StorageTek with a certificate of <br />appreciation on behalf of the city of Louisville. <br /> <br />c. DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - LOUISVIEW CORPORATION ANNEXATION AND <br />ZONING REQUEST <br /> <br />Franklin: Before you tonight is a request for <br />annexation and zoning for referral to <br />Planning commission. The applicant is <br />Louisview Corporation and the property <br />is generally located south of South <br />Boulder Road. The applicant proposes <br />development of the 22I acre parcel as a <br />retail shopping center and office com- <br />plex. The parcels in question are <br />within the Louisville Comprehensive <br />Planning Area as described in the 1989 <br />Update. The Land Use Plan identifies <br />this general area - which includes other <br />properties on the west side of McCaslin <br />Blvd. The plan policies and particularly <br />policies related to business siting <br />apply to the requested zoning and pro- <br />posed development.
