<br />BRaD <br />Meeting Summary <br />May 3, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />UPDATE - Planning and Building Safety Director <br />The City Manager announced that Troy Russ would be starting as Director of Planning and <br />Building Safety on May 7_ <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF CHANGES TO THE BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />Bonnie introduced Peter Stewart and asked him to express his concerns that the BAP program did <br />not include consideration for historic preservation_ The BRaD members noted that both BAP and <br />landmarking are voluntary, and they should not cross purposes_ BRaD agreed that information <br />about the Historic Preservation Commission should be provided to all applicants, through <br />notification of the preservation planner, when BAP conversations begin_ <br /> <br />RETENTION VISITS <br /> <br />Michael Menaker, Ron Sackett, and Bonnie reported on their meeting with Markel Homes staff to <br />discuss current sales and their future plans_ <br /> <br />MAY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING <br /> <br />Bonnie updated BRaD on the Post Office lease with Brendan McManus, noting that Brendan was <br />working on a sublease with another food vendoL <br /> <br />She noted that several Main St restaurants are asking for special use approval for patios on the <br />public right-of-way_ <br /> <br />Beef '0' Brady's has requested a BAP amendment to allow the franchise to be ended so long as <br />the restaurant remains in a style similar to Beef "0" Brady's_ <br /> <br />The BRaD- endorsed BAP program changes are scheduled for Council consideration on May 4_ <br /> <br />Eldorado Springs Artesian Springs was inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame <br />on April 29_ <br /> <br />Bonnie is preparing for the ICSC convention on May 23 - 25 and intends to meet with King <br />Soopers, Home Depot, Walgreens, Lowes, as well as others_ <br /> <br />Michael Menaker noted it would be beneficial to have a business database_ <br /> <br />Next Meeting - Tuesday, July 6, 2010 <br /> <br />Meeting Adjourned at 9:40 a_m_ <br /> <br />3 <br />
