Surveys will also be available at City Hall, the Louisville Library
and Recreation Center.
Surveys will be done door to door in an effort to obtain results
reflecting approximately 10% of Louisville's households. Mark
Heckert, Chairman of the Parks Master Plan was available to answer
any question Council should have.
Sackett: Being a brand new father, how could I indicate
I want to add more baby swings? I have had
people at Ward III meetings say they would
like it if the children's section at Heritage
Park could be enhanced. We ask in the survey
about tennis courts, this other may be
something they may want to check off.
Baysinger: The last item on the survey does say
additional comments are welcomed. We can add
it on the inventory in question No. 5 and work
it into there or question No. 10.
Sackett: I just wanted it brought to the attention of
the committee. If they think that is something
they would like to know then it would be
appropriate to add it. Not just baby swings,
I'm talking about "tot lots".
Hornbostel: You are going to survey approximately 10% of
the homes and then a part of the survey will
be available at the Recreation Center, how
will you know if you have duplicates?
Baysinger: You really can't keep from having duplicates.
If someone fills one out in the door-to-door
and then feels like they want to fill one out
at the Recreation Center, Library or City Hall
there is no way we could say no, you've
already filled one out. The reason we have
done that is because some people feel quite
strongly that they want to fill this out and
because there will be a random sampling their
house may not be one of the ones chosen. We
can indicate on the signage that if you have
already filled one out please do not fill out
another.
Davidson: Since people can fill these out at other
locations, which I agree with, that still can
destroy the statistical validity of the random
survey. Is there any way the complete random
survey of the households could be reported
separately and then include the entire data
3
