LCity<,r <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 2, 2023 <br />Louisville Public Library, Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />6:30 PM <br />Call to Order — at 6:36pm. <br />Roll Call was taken and the following members were absent: Aerith Braverman, <br />Soren Firestine, Alexa Miller, Arihant Swain <br />Approval of Agenda — Approved by all members. <br />Approval of Meeting Minutes — Approved by all members. <br />Public Comments - Councilmember Deborah Fahey thanked YAB members for <br />their hard work and commitment to our community. <br />Sam Becker and Lily Oberg were elected Co -Chairs after a tie! Sena Williams <br />was elected Vice -Chair. The secretary vote was delayed to the Nov meeting as <br />there were no interested candidates. <br />Tiffany Boyd, Jojo Follmar, Eliza Fry, and Ellie Cartwright shared information <br />about a variety of climate initiatives for youth in Boulder County: <br />1. Louisville Climate Justice Collaborative is a multigenerational (high school <br />through seniors) group working on equity and climate initiatives. They meet every <br />other Monday evening. <br />2. LES/LMS Decarbonization- Fundraising to install solar panels on both schools <br />with the goal of a template other schools can replicate. Grant writing and local <br />fundraising to raise $1.2 million. <br />3. Green New Deal is a nationwide campaign which Fairview High School is <br />participating. Goals are introducing climate curriculum, green jobs, sustainable <br />infrastructure and disaster preparedness. <br />4.
