111111111111111 <br />BOUTTHE <br />AUTHORS <br />Tami A. Tanoue <br />Tami Tanoue has been CIRSAs Executive <br />Director since August, 2018. Her previous <br />positions with CIRSA include General Counsel/ <br />Deputy Executive Director and General <br />Counsel/Claims Manager. She was previously <br />in private practice with the firm of Griffiths, <br />Tanoue, Light, Harrington & Dawes, where she <br />served CIRSA as its contract General Counsel <br />for 12 years, and was City or Town Attorney <br />for several Colorado municipalities. Prior to <br />that, she was Staff Attorney for the Colorado <br />Municipal League, where she represented the <br />collective interests of Colorado municipalities. <br />Tami is a regular speaker on local government <br />liability topics and has written several <br />publications on liability issues. <br />Sam Light <br />Sam Light joined CIRSA as General Counsel <br />in 2018 and was previously in private practice <br />with the Denver firm of Light Kelly PC, where <br />he practiced for over twenty years in the <br />areas of municipal and public entity law, and <br />government liability and insurance issues. Sam <br />has served as general and special counsel to <br />home rule and statutory municipalities and <br />other public entities throughout Colorado, <br />and frequently provides training for municipal <br />elected and appointed officials and staff. <br />Robert Widner <br />Robert (Bob) Widner is a founding partner <br />with the law firm of Widner Juran LLP. Bob's <br />practice focuses on the general representation <br />of local governments with a special emphasis in <br />advising and training governmental bodies on <br />best practices to foster ethics, transparency, and <br />meeting efficiency. Bob currently serves as the <br />City Attorney for the City of Centennial. Prior <br />to founding his law firm, Bob was a partner <br />with the Denver law firm of Gorsuch Kirgis LLP <br />where Bob served as the city, town, or county <br />attorney for a wide variety of communities <br />throughout Colorado. <br />Linda Michow <br />Linda Michow is a founding partner of the <br />law firm of Michow Cox & McAskin LLP <br />in Greenwood Village, Colorado where she <br />maintains a robust local government practice. <br />Ms. Michow is an experienced local government <br />attorney well -versed in annexation, land use, <br />urban renewal and zoning matters as well as <br />in the day-to-day issues facing Colorado local <br />governments including TABOR, elections, <br />open records, and liquor licensing. Ms. <br />Michow enjoys participating in educational <br />seminars and training of the firm's elected <br />and appointed officials and municipal staff <br />and is also a frequent presenter to the broader <br />local government community on current and <br />recurring local government issues. <br />Christiana McCormick <br />Christiana McCormick is an associate attorney <br />at the law firm of Michow Cox & McAskin <br />LLP. Her practice involves representation of <br />local governments and covers a variety of areas, <br />including taxation, land use, urban renewal, <br />and law enforcement matters. Before joining <br />Michow Cox & McAskin, Christiana served as <br />a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Norma A. <br />Sierra in Boulder District Court and completed <br />a legal fellowship at the Denver City Attorneys <br />Office, where she assisted with state and federal <br />civil litigation matters primarily involving the <br />Colorado Governmental Immunity Act and <br />constitutional claims arising under 42 U.S.C. <br />Section 1983. <br />
