Page 5 of 11 <br />- For unmet needs for open space, divert some money to ❑pen Space <br />Public Comment: Sherry Sommer <br />- Advocate for carry-over for seed money for ❑pen Space acquisitions <br />- Quick results for public but also support structural change <br />- Public voted for acquisition <br />PPLAB board discussion: <br />- Ryder Bailey: Projected $1.86 million at end of 2023 but haven't closed ❑ut <br />account; by mid -year, we'll have a better idea of actual amount. <br />- That fund is ❑ften used for acquisition and capital projects (do plan t❑ use <br />some in 2024) - in the summer, better understanding of what that value is <br />- Fund balance usage on website <br />- Staff recommending general fund transfer <br />Seed fund: some of this is projected for use (signs, playgrounds) but at the <br />Staff level, haven't gotten to recommendation on what to do with the <br />balance <br />- Need t❑ make sure we maintain resource commitment to parks but there is <br />a bit of a gap with Open Space <br />- Haven't talked with City Council yet <br />- Even with the passage of 2C, Parks is still on tight budget until we have an <br />uptick in sales tax. <br />- General funds question input- Parks responsibility areas covered by tax <br />that maybe should be covered by other City budgets? <br />- Capital project submission timeline - due at the end of March <br />- PPLAB to continue to have rolling list ❑f Parks (2 at a time) to recommend <br />for re -design. 2 completed (Heritage, Keith Helart). 2 in final design (Joe <br />Carnival, Meadows), 2 in design (Enclave, Sunflower) <br />- For the next month, think about next priority parks <br />- PROST project manager - Bryon Weber. Abby t❑ discuss with Bryon. <br />- Playgrounds still on the list of improvements <br />- Good to stay ahead on parks even though we are already involved with 4 <br />parks at the moment <br />- Potentially add Arboretum to plan? <br />
