Discussion/Direction – City Council Goals
Based upon discussions at the July 9 goal setting session, staff prepared a list of goals for 2003.
Goals with Council consensus were included on the list, and goals requiring further Council
clarification were compiled on a separate list. Council directed staff to distribute the Council Goals
and City Manager Tasks via email in order for Council to prioritize each list.

City Manager Items
Bill Simmons reported that the Water Committee would be meeting in the near future to review
Water & Sewer Funds. He provided an update on negotiations for the post office site, explaining
that the City is not offering to relocate the post office. John Keany asked for clarification that
Council agreed to consider purchasing the post office location for a library site only if the post office
would remain in downtown Louisville. Council agreed.

Heather Balser distributed copies of an article from the Rocky Mountain News reporting that
Congressmen Udall & Tancredo are asking for $14.9 million to build bus-related transit
improvements along the Boulder Turnpike.

Mayor Davidson explained that he received a letter from Scott Robson, Boulder County, stating that
the County is forming a Regional Trail Committee and they are requesting two representatives from
Louisville to serve on the Committee. Michele Van Pelt volunteered to serve on the Committee, and
Cindy Lair agreed to ask for a volunteer from the Open Space Advisory Board to also serve on the
Committee.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 p.m.

4
