SIMMONS, CITY MANAGER <br />DATE: September 10, 2004 <br />SUBJECT: Recreation /Senior Center Recommended Marketing Direction <br />ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: Recreation and Senior Services <br />SUMMARY: <br />The City of Louisville's Recreation/Senior Center is forecasted to be below budget in revenue this year. <br />This trend, which developed in 2003 is a concern as compared to past years, in overall cost recovery of <br />operations of the center. As discussed at the August 3rd work session with City Council changes in the <br />recreation facility environment has occurred, although not limited, these range from pricing, competition <br />and economic times. In order to strive towards changing the current trend, staff within the Department <br />of Recreation and Senior Services has made recommendations to reverse the decline in revenue. At the <br />work session staff will be available to discuss their recommendations and receive input from City <br />Council.
