10. No grandfather clause exists. All laws and regulations apply regardless of the age of <br />the facility. <br />11. All fire sprinkler systems shall conform to the applicable sections in the current <br />edition of pamphlets Thirteen, Twenty -Four and Twenty -five of the National Fire <br />Protection Association and local fire district policy. <br />Guideline for types of ISOLATION backflow prevention assemblies, required on single <br />family residences: <br />1. Single - family residences must have an approved backflow assembly between the <br />house plumbing and its irrigation system. <br />2. All hose connections "sill cocks" must be equipped with a Hose Connection Vacuum <br />Breaker. <br />3. Any other potential source of contamination, from a residence to the City Distribution <br />System, must be contained by a device appropriate to the hazard, determined by the <br />Public Works Department. <br />4. In order to ensure that backflow prevention assemblies continue to operate <br />satisfactorily, they shall be tested at the time of installation and on an annual schedule <br />thereafter. Such test shall be conducted in accordance with A.S.S.E. and/or U.S.C. <br />F.C.C.C. and H.R. performance standards and field test procedures as directed by the <br />Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. <br />5. All costs for design, installation, maintenance, repair and testing shall be borne by the <br />customer. <br />6. No grandfather clause exists. Any backflow prevention assembly <br />required herein shall be a model and size approved by the Department of Public Works. <br />The term approved backflow prevention assembly shall mean an assembly that has been <br />manufactured in full conformance with the standards established by the latest version of <br />the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Cross - Connection Control <br />Manual. Final approval shall be evidenced by a "Certificate of Approval" issued by an <br />approved testing laboratory certifying full compliance with Colorado, Department of Public <br />Health and Environment standards and A.S.S.E. and/or U.S.C. F.C.C.C. and H.R. <br />specifications. The following testing laboratory is qualified to test and certify backflow <br />prevention assemblies, and being listed on their periodic approved list shall constitute <br />meeting all of the above requirements: <br />3 <br />
