for the discontinuance of water service to the premises or the requirement of installation of <br />an air -gap separation from the public potable water system. <br />2. Service of water to any premises may be discontinued by the Public Works Director if <br />unprotected cross - connections exist on the premises. When any defect is found in an <br />installed backflow prevention assembly, or if a backflow prevention assembly has been <br />removed or bypassed, the service may be discontinued. Service shall not be restored until <br />such conditions or defects are corrected. <br />3. Discontinuance of service may be summary, immediate and without written notice <br />whenever, in the judgment of the Public Works Director, such action is necessary to <br />protect the purity of the public potable water supply or the safety of the water system. <br />Section 2. Severance Clause. If any article, section, paragraph, sentence, clause or <br />phrase of this Ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision <br />shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. <br />The City Council of Louisville, Colorado hereby declares that it would have passed this <br />Ordinance and each part or parts thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one part or parts may <br />be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br />Section 3. Repeal. All other ordinances, or parts of any ordinances or other Code <br />provisions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. The repeal established herein shall <br />not be construed to revive any ordinance Code provision or part thereof that had been <br />previously repealed by any ordinance which is repealed by this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after <br />publication following final passage. <br />6 <br />
