L City f Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />City Council <br />Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Friday, February 16, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting <br />1. Call to Order: Chair Leh called the meeting to order at 1:33 PM. <br />2. Roll Call: The following members of the City Council were present: Chair <br />Dickinson, Councilmember Fahey, Councilmember Bierman, and <br />Councilmember Kern. Also present were City Manager Jeff Durbin, Community <br />Development Director Rob Zuccaro, Public Works Director Kurt Kowar, <br />Economic Vitality Manager Vanessa Zarate, and Economic Vitality Specialist <br />Austin Brown. Twenty members of the public were present. <br />3. Approval of Agenda: Councilmember Fahey made a motion to approve the <br />agenda as presented. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Bierman. <br />Motion passed. <br />4. Approval of Meeting Minutes: Councilmember Fahey made a motion to <br />approve the meeting minutes of January 26, 2024. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilmember Bierman. Motion passed. <br />5. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br />None. <br />6. Staff Updates: <br />Economic Vitality Specialist Brown gave an overview of the staff updates <br />included in the packet. There were no comments or questions. <br />7. Discussion/Direction — 2024 Main Street Closure: <br />Economic Vitality Manager gave an update on a potential proposal to <br />temporarily close Main Street to vehicular traffic in 2024. The proposal will be <br />presented to City Council during their March 19 meeting. <br />Chair Dickinson asked for an update regarding conversations with RTD. <br />Director Zuccaro responded that staff met with RTD and RTD feels that <br />rerouting the DASH bus to LaFarge is the only feasible alternative for this year. <br />Chair Dickinson clarified that this request is only for 2024 and asked whether an <br />alternative to LaFarge could be feasible in future years.
