An addition to an existing principal structure may extend an established building side yard <br />setback provided all of the following conditions are met: <br />A. The resulting setback is not less than 3 feet; and <br />B. The resulting sum of both side yard setbacks is equal or greater than the sum of <br />both required side yard setbacks; and <br />C. For each linear foot that the addition extends the established building side yard <br />setback, the required rear yard setback is increased by one foot. <br />D. The resulting distance from any principal structure on an adjacent lot shall not be <br />less than ten feet for lots 30 feet or greater in width or less than 6 feet for lots less <br />than 30 feet wide. <br />2. The minimum front yard and street side yard setbacks may be reduced as follows: <br />A. A covered porch may extend not more than six feet into the required front yard or <br />street side yard setback. <br />B. If there is an existing dwelling on the abutting lot with a front yard less than 20', <br />the front yard setback may be reduced in accordance with Section 17.16.080 of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code. <br />3. The maximum front yard setback is the maximum distance between the front property line <br />and the nearest point of the principal structure. If the minimum front yard setback is <br />reduced per Section 17.16.080, the maximum front yard setback shall be the resulting <br />minimum setback plus five feet. <br />4.
