Memorandum <br />To:Historical Commission <br />From:Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Date:February 1, 2011 <br />Re:Museum Coordinator’s Report <br />On behalf of the Historical Commission, Dave Ferguson presented the Commission’s Pioneer <br />Award to the family of Lawrence Enrietto at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet on January <br />th <br />27. <br />The new fire detection system at the Museum, which is being funded by the City of Louisville, is <br />in the process of being installed so as to provide coverage forallfour Museum buildings. <br />ndth <br />January 22marked the 75anniversary of the Monarch Mine explosion just south of Louisville <br />that killed eight miners. <br />For the fourth quarter of 2010, the Historical Commission collected sales taxes inthe amount of <br />$136for the State of Colorado and $100for the City of Louisville. <br />I presented the first of a bimonthly series of “Brown Bag” weekday lunch programs about <br />Louisville history at the Library. The topic was “Rhythms of the Louisville Household: Winter.” <br />th <br />The next Brown Bag will take place onApril 5from noon to 1:00. <br />st <br />The Museum was closed on the first Saturday of January, January 1, due to the holiday. <br />Museum Visitors Report(these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, andnot inquiries <br />that come in by email or phone): <br />Januaryvisitors 59; YTD visitors 59. <br />
