<br />Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />DATE <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />Brainstorming <br /> <br />Don mentioned that we might want to look into how other Arts Councils are <br />organized. Most Councils are not a part of the City. More than one person <br />expressed our support of being a City sponsored Arts Council. <br /> <br />Coffeehouse Concerts <br />Rene Heredia - Flamenco was a success. 78 people attended - 75 paid <br />attendees. Cafe Sonora provided coffee. We had 25 people from Imagine <br />(developmentally disabled) attend the event. We gave the Imagine attendees a <br />20% discount. Total paid by LCC is $578. We netted a total of $59. <br /> <br />November 10- Beth Amsel is performing. She is taking reservations on her <br />website. <br /> <br />Salsa Night <br /> <br />Maryan applied for a liquor permit for the event. She will be giving one margarita <br />per attendee sponsored by Superior Liquor. The local Mexican restaurants <br />agreed to give a 15% discount for dinner from 5 - 8 p.m. only on November 4. <br /> <br />Silent Movie <br /> <br />November 18 - Jeremy is working on the poster. <br /> <br />Poetry Night <br /> <br />Don reported that everything is under control for Poetry Night. Doors open at <br />7:00 p.m. and the event begins at 7:30 p.m. It is a book signing for Jack. <br /> <br />Young Artists - November 17 - December 3. <br /> <br />We need to board members to volunteer and sit the event. <br /> <br />December Events <br /> <br />December 2, 2006 - David is coordinating a children's event with a local <br />gentleman named Mr. Shine. The cost of the event is $200. <br /> <br />Maryan needs a sound person for the event December Jazz Concert. - $150 for <br />the sound person. <br /> <br />Adjourned 9:15 p.m. <br />
