Sunflower and Enclave design update <br />Enclave <br />• Discussion/approval at/by City Council last night along with Public Works <br />• Public Works submitted contract for storm water portion <br />o Playground will be based off of this project <br />o Now Parks will know the design based off of storm water plan <br />o Parks has meeting scheduled for tomorrow, 10/3, with landscape <br />architect and civil engineer to continue plan <br />o No drastic redesign necessary from prior Enclave Parks designs. <br />o 2 cotton wood trees - will be removed <br />■ City/Public Works view: Outside arborist came and looked; <br />construction would be threat and the trees are already <br />compromised <br />■ Project couldn't move forward if those trees weren't removed <br />■ Enabled storm water quality project, which enabled park <br />enhancement to move forward <br />■ Plantings will include more mature trees which will come back <br />to PPLAB in the Enclave design. <br />■ No wildlife observed to be actively living in trees (perch but no <br />nests); outside of the time of year when migratory bird <br />protections are in place. <br />o Would bring back to PPLAB in a few months <br />o Haven't worked to address May comments yet <br />Public comments <br />• Christina Riseman: neighbors have concerns about plans <br />• Seth Riseman: concern about amount of concrete and stadium seating, <br />thistle removal - concerned that this area is unusable so emphasizing <br />thistle removal as an immediate and long-term priority. <br />5 <br />
