February 11, 1999

Mr. Tom Davidson, Mayor
City of Louisville
749 Main Street
Louisville, CO 80027

Dear Mayor Davidson:

The Town of Superior Board of Trustees, at their regularly scheduled meeting of
February 8, 1999, approved an amendment to the Louisville/Superior Sewer Agreement
that brings an official end to this intergovernmental agreement. A signed copy of the
Amendment is being delivered for your Council's review.

The City of Louisville came to the aid of Superior by allowing Superior residents access
to the Louisville sewer system when Superior had no such system of its own for
residential use. The ability to access the Louisville sewer system resulted in many
residents being able to stay in their homes until a potable water system could be extended
to the Town. The new water system, coupled with Louisville sewer, allowed our
residents to disconnect from the aging well and septic systems they had long been using.

Superior and Louisville enjoy a good, cooperative working relationship, having recently
received regional recognition for our intergovernmental agreement concerning the Biella-
Menkick property. While we now end this agreement for provision of sewer service, the
Trustees and I look forward to a continued spirit of cooperation and good will with our
neighbors in Louisville.

Sincerely,

Susan K. Sp n~ce
Mayor

C: Superior Board of Trustees

124 E. Coal Creek Drive · Superior, CO 80027 · (303) 499-3675
Fax: (303) 499-3677
