Building Code Board of Appeals
Agenda
December 4, 2027
Geise also pointed out the amended changes in fire hardening code in relation to
flame spread, etc.
Berry leave 507.1 as written; just state that if 30 inches or greater need to be
designed by a licensed engineer.
Geise — ventilation needs to change to 1/8"
Root will match up the Fire Hardening Code with the 2024 ICC codes.
Geise — can we reference UL listings? Root — we can "list" it but not mandate a
specific company -type listing. It must be a credible lab that creates the listing
type.
Update on 2021 IECC proposed changes
Root: Rob Zuccaro (Director of Community Development) hired a consultant to
look at the energy code changes to make sure the City is not in violation with the
State code. The City may be in violation with pre-emption with gas appliances
greater than 80%, since Federal standards are 80%. Also with the "all electric"
requirements might also be in violation. City needs to consult with the City
Attorney first. Also match up the numbering so it matches with the energy code.
Appendix RC would be removed.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting.
Look over the ICC 2024 codes (except the IFC) and regroup in more detail in
December.
ESS systems
Fire Sprinklers
Update on 2021 IECC.
Adjourn — The meeting was adjourned at 4:28pm
