RESOLUTION NO. 5 <br />SERIES 2021 <br />A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL A HISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION FUND GRANT FOR THE HAYES HOUSE LOCATED AT 541 <br />JEFFERSON AVENUE <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a preservation and restoration grant for the <br />Hayes House, a historic residential structure located at 541 Jefferson Avenue, on <br />property legally described as the S 3/4 Lot 6 and N 1/2 Lot 7, Block 3, Acme Place, City of <br />Louisville, State of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the HPC have reviewed the application and found <br />it to be in compliance with Section 3.20.605.D and Section 15.36.120 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the preservation <br />and restoration grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the preservation and restoration work being requested for the Hayes <br />House includes making repairs to the existing structure; and <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission finds these proposed <br />improvements will assist in the preservation of the Hayes House, which is landmarked <br />by the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />The Historic Preservation Commission recommends the City Council approve the <br />proposed historic preservation grant application for the Hayes House, in the amount of <br />$35,000 for the following scope of work: <br />Grant Request <br />Structural elements (replace existing gutters <br />to be historically accurate; repair and re - <br />grade around the existing structure) <br />$15,000 <br />Siding, trim, and ornamentation (remove non - <br />historic stucco siding; repair and/or replace <br />historic siding; restoration/replacement of <br />historic trim and ornamentation) <br />$5,000 <br />
